The W9 IRS form requests an SSN or EIN to be filled out. Only when tax forms are completed can you be fully registered and considered “payable.”

Your SSN, or your EIN, is collected as part of tax form W9 for residents of the US. If you make more than $600 as a mystery shopper, we must report your income to the IRS and need this information. If you are not a US resident, you will have to choose the “non-resident” choice to bypass this request.

We can now offer a variety of payment methods! You can choose from:

  • Direct deposit/ local ACH
  • eCheck/  International ACH
  • Wire transfer
  • Paper Check
  • ACH Bank Transfer
  • Hold my payments

To change the payment method, you just need to log into your account and click on Payment Details on the sidebar. Then click on “2” Payment Method and select a different method from the drop-down menu.  Then save those details, and you should be all set!

Yes! We want to avoid lost checks as much as possible. Therefore, when you complete your contact address, payment method address (for “Check” payments only), and tax form address in the Dashboard, Tipalti validates the addresses to ensure accuracy.

Yes, as long as there are no restrictions on accounts.

* Please note: A change in any of the following information may erase banking information and/ or invalidate tax forms:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Company name
  • Contact address country
  • Payment details country
  • Phone number

Please also note that frequent changes to bank information may trigger your account to be locked due to Bank Secrecy Act and its implementing regulations (“AML rules”).

Absolutely! This is one of our favorite features! You can even download the information for your records.

When registering with Tipalti, if you would like to receive an eCheck as your payment method, you will have the option to select if you want your payment to be sent in CAD or USD. You can select the option that works best for you. If you select USD, please check with your bank first if it can accept this currency.

By default, Tipalti will not allow you to enter details for a bank outside your home country. Please contact us directly if this is your situation.

Please note:  Selecting CAD as the payment method should allow you to receive an eCheck directly deposited to your Canadian bank account with no issues, but please call your bank and confirm. The eCheck will be in Canadian currency and will be direct deposit / ACH.

If your address is outside the US, you will not be asked for a US SSN or to provide information for a W9. You will have to Electronically Sign a “Certificate of non-US residency.” This is simply a document stating that we do not need to report your income to the IRS. If you need to report income locally, that will be your responsibility.
